Product Recall - Gold Medal Flour

Flour Recall

The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention have reported 13 illnesses from a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella linked to Gold Medal brand flour produced by General mills of Minneapolis, MN. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported two of the cases are in Illinois.

General Mills has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of 2, 5, and 10 pound bags of Fold Medal Unbleached and bleached all purpose flour with a better is used by data or March 27, 2024 and March, 28, 2024.

Check your flour and if it is the General Mills products being recalled, throw the flour away or return the flour to were you purchased it.

Anyone experiencing symptoms of Salmonella are advised to contact their healthcare provider immediately. Children under 5, those over 65, and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to have severe infections.

Symptoms of Salmonelle are usually experienced 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. Symptoms include:

  • headache
  • muscle aches
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • abdominal cramping
  • chills
  • fever
  • nausea
  • dehydration
