archived-Become A Doula

The Winnebago County Health Department is now accepting applications for the Doula Development Program scholarship as part of the Winning Start Winnebago initiative.

A Doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and educational support before, during, and after childbirth. Research shows that families supported by Doulas experience better health outcomes—and with the support of the Illinois Department of Public Health, WCHD is making it easier than ever to become one.

Through the Doula Development Program, participants will receive training that can lead to certification through DONA International, a leader in Doula education and credentialing.

If you’ve ever considered becoming a Doula, now is the perfect time!
Anyone interested can apply—limited spots are available.
