About The Food Code

As a delegate health authority under the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Winnebago County Health Department maintains that food establishments meet the requirements of the Illinois Food Code. Illinois has adopted the 2022 U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Code effective January 1, 2025.
