Are you interested in helping your community improve overall health and respond to public health emergencies? To support our efforts to protect our community, the Winnebago County Health Department needs volunteers with a variety of backgrounds, including medical.

Examples of activities volunteers participate in and support:

  • Emergency preparedness and response trainings and exercises
  • Community vaccination clinics
  • Emergency shelter operations and medical care
  • Disaster medical and behavioral health support
  • Disease testing and surveillance
  • Community education and outreach

Becoming a Volunteer

Interested in volunteering? Email mrc@publichealth.winocoil.gov

You will be notified when your application is fully processed. All our volunteers must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen of the United States or legal/registered alien
  • Be 18 years of age or older (16 for non-medical roles)
  • Have a current professional licensure information (for medical professionals only)
  • Pass a background check
  • Be ready to help in the event of a public health emergency
