Food Pantries
Local food pantries are available to support food needs. If you are going to a local food pantry, there are a few tips to know before you go. Use the Route Guide below from the University of Illinois Extension, Rockford Mass Transit District, NICNE and 100 Strong.
Beginning on Saturday, November 1, SNAP benefits will not be available to 1.9 million Illinoisans who rely on this funding to buy groceries. This does not impact WIC services, which continue to be available through your Winnebago County Health Department.
SNAP customers can visit snapfederalimpact.illinois.gov for the most up-to-date information and to find food locally.
You can help by supporting your neighbors. As more people need these resources, donating cash to your local food bank or pantry is an efficient way to help. Click here to learn more about donating to local food pantries.
