Beginning on Saturday, November 1, SNAP benefits were not fully available to 1.9 million Illinoisans who rely on this funding to buy groceries. As of November 7, some SNAP benefits are available. SNAP customers can visit snapfederalimpact.illinois.gov for the most up-to-date information and to find food locally.

Now more than ever, your neighbors need your help with a donation to the food pantries. With one donation, you can help to support nine local food pantries. Donations are still being accepted through the City of Rockford to support local food pantries.

If you are going to a local food pantry, there are a few tips to know before you go. Use the Route Guide below from the University of Illinois Extension, Rockford Mass Transit District, NICNE and 100 Strong.

WIC is Open

The Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is open and serving residents. To access WIC call the Winnebago County Health Department at 815-720-4000 and choose option 1 for WIC.
