Archive – Bivalent COVID-19 Vaccine Booster for 5 Years and Older

An updated Bivalent COVID-19 Vaccine Booster is available.

The updated booster provides broader protection against the new COVID-19 virus variants. The updated COVID-19 vaccines add Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 components helping to targeting these Omicron variants that are more transmissible and immune-evading. The bivalent booster also helps to restore protection that had waned since previous vaccination.

The CDC recommends that everyone ages 5 years and older get an updated bivalent COVID-19 vaccine booster. Before getting the bivalent booster, individuals need to completed their primary COVID-19 vaccination series.
